700 Do 01 50 0300 Elmer Kay Colby Kay Colby passed away of leukemia, Friday, June 11. 1999, in So. Jordan, UT, at the home of his daughter. Kay spent his last hours with his fomily and died in the loving arms of his wife of 44 years, Marva. Kay was born to Elmer and Clara Nelson Colby on February 19, 1935, in Salina, UT.

He was raised in Salina and graduated from North Sevier High School in 1953. Kay married Marva Torgenson on March 26, 1955. He is survived by his wife. Marva; and their three children, Shauna (Rick) Christiansen, So Jordan, UT, Nanette Colby -Booth, Memphis. TN.

and Russell Colby. Salt Lake City, Utah, four grandsons, Chad and Brady Perkins. Memphis, IN. Ricky (Carrie) Christiansen, Kearns, UT, and Holden Colby, Salt Lake City, UT, one great-granddaughter, Paige Christiansen: sisters, Ramona Kowaiski, Ridgecrest. CA, and Clephan Sorensen Scroggin, Salt Lake City.

UT. Kay is aiso survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law who oll loved him very much. Marva and Kay began their married life in Salina where all their children were born. They moved with their family to Salt Lake City in 1961 where they lived and raised their family. Kay retired as service manager of PST Vans in 1996.

Marva retired in 1998. and then moved to the home of their dreams in Surprise, AZ, to enjoy the warm weather and golf. Kay loved the outdoors where he spent most of his time with his friends and family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 15th, 1 p.m., in the Salina 2nd Ward. He was born on January 7.1927 in Basel, Switzerland to Alfred and Emilie Mundwyler Niederhauser. He immigrated to Salt Lake City with his parents on August 1, 1948 He married Jerry Ann Knowlton on July 6.1951 in the Lion House in Salt Lake City. During his youth in Switzerland he played on the Swiss National Ice Hockey Team and on Regional Soccer Teams.

He apprenticed in the Miscellaneous Steel business while in Switzerland and he and his family started Niederhauser Omamental Metal Works in Salt Lake City a few years later. He was a very highly respected man in the business world throughout the Western United States. His love of the sport ice Hockey led he and others to form the Salt Lake Amateur Youth Hockey Association in Salt Lake City in the 1960's. They also started the Salt Lake Seagull Hockey Team. They traveled throughout The West playing other amateur hockey feams.

He was instrumental in keeping the Salt Lake Golden Eagle Professional Hockey team in Salt Lake City by becoming a part owner of the team. He was still playing ice hockey up until the time of his death every week at the Bountiful Ice Rink and he has passed on that love of hockey to several of his grandsons. He loved to soar through the sky in his twin engine Piper Seneca as often as he could. He shared his love of flying with anyone and everyone and especially loved flying his plane to Lake Powell numerous times each summer to relax on his boat with his farnity and friends. He loved the beauty of the earth and traveled all over the world and often back to his native country of Switzerland.

He is survived by his loving wife, two sons, Wilford Kay (Jessie Derricott) of South Jordan and their six children, Steven Ken (Liz Lee) of Salt Lake City and their five children, and one daughter, Shawna Tidwell (Bruce) of Farmington and their five children. He has four grandchildren serving missions at this time in various areas of the world. His surviving siblings are Emilie Chappuis. Ella Siegmann, Rose Morgan, and Alfred Niederhauser, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.

They had six children. She was always active in church service, having many callings in Primary, MIA, Cub Scouts. ward librarian, and Relief Society. Although motherhood was her greatest calling, she had also worked as a secretary. Ireta served an LDS mission to the Chicago Temple 1996-97, which was a beautiful experience, and was currently serving in the Salt Lake IDS Temple.

She loved golf, travel, square dancing, genealogy, but loved her time with her children and grandchildren most of all. Survivors include three sisters and a brother. Utah. He was a good husband and provider. A wonderful father and grandfather.

Chris was bom October 23, 1908 to Lewis and Caroline Rushton and was one of 11 chidren. He was a farmer most of his life and enjoyed working and making his yard beautiful. He loved playing ball, hunting and enjoyed many close friends. He red Veria Claire Atkinson on March 5, 1931; she died in 1943 leaving him with two daughters to raise, Janice Claire and Verla Christine. He later marred Mary Swain Michie January 2, 1947 and they had a son, Dale.

They were married 52 years and enjoyed many good times. Chris is survived by his wife, Mary, his children: Janice (Golden) Coon, Verla Kingsbury and Dale (Barbara) Rushton. He is also survived by two sisters, Irene Jefferles and Becky Ek; three brothers, Samuel, Sylvester and Lewis Rushton. He has nine grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday June 14, 1999 at Hunter 2nd Ward, 5245 West 4065 South at 12 noon.

Friends may call at a viewing Sunday June 13th 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City and one hour prior to services at the Hunter 2nd Ward. Bonnie Cleo Thorup Schaff CENTERVILLE--Bonnie Thorup Schaff, 53, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister passed away Saturday, June 12, 1999 after a hard fight with cancer.

She died peacefully at home with her family surrounding her. She was bom in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 22, 1945 to Ver and Cleo Thorup. Bonnie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Utah. She married John M. Schaff in the Logan Temple on December 20, 1967.

Together they have raised five sons, Michael, David, Stephen, Paul and Nathan, and also have two daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Shirleen. She served faithfully in many callings in the LDS church and loved the many relationships she was able to build through service. She had a special capacity to teach and thoroughly enjoyed teaching at Centerville Jr. High School. She loved the outdoors and the beauty of nature.

She is survived by her loving husband, John; children, Michael (Jennifer) Schaff, David (Shirleen) Schaff, Stephen Schaff, Paul Schaff, presentty serving an LDS Mission in Peru Trujillo Mission and Nathan Schaff; grandson, Hayden; parents, Vert and Cleo Thorup; brother, Elvan (Bonnie) Thorup; brother-in-law, Fred Tull.
